Obituary for Louis Peter Arnold

Louis Peter Arnold
Louis P. Arnold, 60, lifelong resident of Rutherford, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic to the late Louis J. Arnold & Phyllis (nee Peters) Arnold.

“Louie” came from a law enforcement family; his father, a retired Rutherford Police Captain, his brother Rob, a retired Rutherford Police Lieutenant and his Uncle Tom, a retired Rutherford Police Lieutenant, so it was natural for Louie to follow in their footsteps. Louie’s daughter Alexandra currently a Rutherford Police officer and son James currently a Ridgefield Park Police officer are proudly carrying on the next generation of family tradition. Louie was with the RPD for 27 years before retiring in 2010 as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Community Outreach Programs through the RPD., a soccer coach, a coach for little league & Manager of the PBA team for 8 years. Louis was also a Rutherford Volunteer Fireman for Engine #2 and a member of the Rutherford First-Aid Ambulance Corps. He was a huge Yankee fan and loved “James Bond”movies. He was a great guy, a friend to so many, a devoted husband and loving father.
Louie will be deeply missed by his wife Catherine (nee Ivanovic), his children; Ryan, Alexandra, James, Rebecca, his siblings; JoAnn Henkelman, Barbara Arnold, Patricia Piasecki & husband Michael, Robert Arnold and Brother-in-law Mark Ivanovic & wife Cathy.

Family will receive friends Sunday 4-8pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford. Prayer Service at 7pm offered by Rutherford Fire Department.
Funeral Monday 8:30am from Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
